So I’ve decided it’s time to hit the road. And hit it hard this time around. Over the next three weeks I plan to cover more than 2000km throughout Ontario and Quebec – hopefully taking in some interesting sights and traveling some nearly forgotten roads and trails. It’s just time for me to get out and see what’s going on in this world.

Partly this trip is simply because I need to get out and test myself on a multi-week trip – and partly it’s a chance to clear my head from everything going on around here. Nothing clears your head like the simplicity of riding. Nothing else matters while you’re out on the road but turning over the pedals.

But besides my every trusty Xprezo – I’ll be bringing along some new technology – a SPOT transmitter. So if you felt inclined to cyber-stalk me – my SPOT will be updating a special website every ten minutes to show you where I am. If you want to check it out, swing by pedachenko.com/findme. And if I’m passing near you – come join me for a portion of the ride or give me a shout and I’ll steer my trip your way for a visit. The beauty of this trip and the amount of time I’ve given myself to do it is that I’ll have time to play tourist quite a bit and check things out.

And if you’re curious where I’m heading – google is our friend – here’s a map showing the approximate course I’m hoping to follow. Of course, this is only an approximate route. Partly because I plan to follow any road that looks interesting, making this route only an approximation – partly because Google has some limitations in how many points I can show, so this is a pretty general outline.

See you out on the road.

  1. […] In the mean time, I’ve got a pile of photos to sort through and some typing to do because I think there’s a book to come out of all this. Stay tuned. But while you’re waiting, why not catch up on my reports from the road starting from the beginning. […]
